Yar'n!

Sometimes the world had a great sense of synchronicity - look what I found waiting for me when I got home from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, a PIRATE sock (most likely small project) bag from the wonderful Costume Chick

Yar'n! I totally love it! :) I hope she is happy with her Alpaca Cloud in Iris!

Picture Free Post w/added links!

Just wanted to send a shout out to my One Skein Pal! She sent me a lovely ball of Opal Dreamcatcher in a red, white & blue colorway, The Ultimate Book of Knit Socks, and a Rain scented Candle so that it would rain here in my town. The candle worked - pretty cool!

In other news I am now moderatly addicted to Podcasts! Listening to one right now! Tonight Podcast is It's a Purl, Man - I have been listening to Cast-On in the car since I got a car kit for my Ipod! Both are good listens! I have started at the beginning of the Pod Casts because I am orderly like that so I am listening to Podcasts from the past working towards the future. I have to read novel sets in order too! It's a thing! Hope every one has a great week! Oh there's a new Knitty if you have not heard!

An Update!

Ok - something big is coming in the next post but I thought I would put all the business updates here - I have no finished Sockapaloooza socks to show off because I dropped out at the 11th hour - I felt bad but I did not get any socks and someone else made socks for my downstream pal so everyone was taken care of - I just could not get them done in a timely fashion and felt overwhelmed with my surgery and everything so I decided to drop out - I hope my pals understood...

I did finally finish my Branching Out - I actually finished around the first of March but was busy with surgery stuff and had blocking block! (is there such a thing?) Here is proof that I can knit lace!

I am almost to the heel on sock one on my Sock Pal Socks! I am off work until further notice due to having surgery so should have no issues finishing these up - I promise to make more updates!

The Olympics and Sox!

So I am not a gold medalist - also I am not disappointed by this because my knitting skills have improved - and I know that it not if you win or lose it is how you play the game! I now can knit lace patterns in between calls at work - this is a great accomplishment in my world! I overcame stumbling block I had and I am a better knitter for it - pictures of the finished scarf will be posted soon as well as the cast on for my Sockapalooza Socks!

Knitting Olympics

Well I have swatched! That is the beginning of the Lace Sampler from Knitting for Dummies in the mint green Annabel Fox Oasis Cotton Yarn I was going to swap - Guess what! Now that yarn is going to become Branching Out! Hee! It is a nice yarn - pretty and soft - I am going to use a little bigger needle and just go for it! :) Wish me luck!

Tuesday, January 31, 2006

I have had a few focus problem with either being in pain or taking pain killers so the big red scarf took a little extra time and I did not get to finish any socks for my Sock-a-Month along - I am ok with that - I did something nice for someone else! :)

Here are the obligatory pics of the big red scarf!

I finished it in a timely fashion and it will be turned in today to my local Einstein's Bagels - I forgot to add I am also making a wedding dress for a friend and have been playing World of Warcraft too as my mindless recreation!

I'm such a joiner!

It's the Knittyfolks fault - I know if I join I will not be alone! Now let's see if I can finish anything for all the Knitalongs and Swaps I have over there in my Sidebar! Whee!

Rollin' rollin' rollin'..

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

Keep movin', movin', movin',
Though they're disapprovin',
Keep them doggies movin' Rawhide!
Don't try to understand 'em,
Just rope and throw and grab 'em,
Soon we'll be living high and wide.
Boy my heart's calculatin'
My true love will be waitin', be waiting at the end of my ride.

Move 'em on, head 'em up,
Head 'em up, move 'em out,
Move 'em on, head 'em out Rawhide!
Set 'em out, ride 'em in
Ride 'em in, let 'em out,
Cut 'em out, ride 'em in Rawhide.

Full Lyrics

Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Rawhide!

Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Though the streams are swollen
Keep them dogies rollin'
Rawhide!
Rain and wind and weather
Hell-bent for leather
Wishin' my gal was by my side.
All the things I'm missin',
Good vittles, love, and kissin',
Are waiting at the end of my ride

CHORUS
Move 'em on, head 'em up
Head 'em up, move 'em on
Move 'em on, head 'em up
Rawhide
Count 'em out, ride 'em in,
Ride 'em in, count 'em out,
Count 'em out, ride 'em in
Rawhide!

Keep movin', movin', movin'
Though they're disapprovin'
Keep them dogies movin'
Rawhide!
Don't try to understand 'em
Just rope, throw, and brand 'em
Soon we'll be living high and wide.
My hearts calculatin'
My true love will be waitin',
Be waitin' at the end of my ride.

Rawhide!
Rawhide!

I digress - my swift came and I did much rolling of yarn - see below for results!

The Rawhide Oingo Boing Challenge is over - thanks folks!

First Felting

Lookie there - felted fuzzy feet - they were almost felted them too small - the roomie was helping since they are his fuzzy feets and thought they needed to be a little smaller - thank goodness felting stretches a little before drying

There is my Booga Bag drying upside down on a box - I will take a picture when it is totally done with the handle too!
